Innovative Water Treatment for Central A/C Plant

For Central A/C Plant, Water-cooled Chiller system is more efficient by consuming 30% lesser energy than Air-cooled Chiller system. However, the efficiency of the heat transfer at heat exchangers will diminish as Calcite scale (CaC03) and bacterial slime grow with time. As a result, extra energy consumption will be recorded unintentionally. Star Lite Energy Water-Ionizer is designed to extract water scale and kill germs simultaneously. Subsequently, both energy and water consumption can be reduced without leaving pollutant residues caused by employment of Chemical Treatment.

Anti-scale

Star Lite Energy Water-Ionizer is an innovative water treatment machine to combine the technology of Water Ionizer with Electrodeionization (EDI). The machine equips with electrodes to ionize water molecules and separate dissolved ions (impurities) from water. In the active component in ion exchange columns, ceramic resin is molded into porous plates that facilitate capture and removal of the mineral salts while purifying the sewage water. It differs from all other water purification technologies in that positive ions such as calcium, magnesium and sodium etc. will reform chemical compounds especially the scale (CaC03) and adhere to the unique Titanium Cage. The result of scale adherence is similar to electroplating process. Saving in water consumption is also achieved as extraction of scale leads to a lower Concentration Ratio and thus bleed-off rate. The scale collected, in yellow colour and brittle form, can be accumulated with more than 2 kg in weight each week. Simple maintenance can be done just by brushing off the water scale captured at the cage net.

Disinfection

In the descaling process, small quantity of super oxides, such as, ozone (03) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)…, will be generated. These disinfectants and oxidizers will reduce growth of bacteria in water cooling system. In some extreme cases where bacteria and algae amount is high, use of chemical disinfectants would be a supplementary solution.

Chilled Water System

In a water circuit, circulated water is commonly infected with Iron Bacteria which grow and proliferate in water containing as low as 0.1mg/L of iron and 0.3 ppm of dissolved oxygen. These microorganisms combine dissolved iron with oxygen and then become insoluble rust-colored deposits. In this process, the bacteria produces a brown sticky slime that clogs the pipe and causes poor heat transfer.Star Lite Energy Water-Ionizer effectively disinfect Iron Bacteria and oxidation of brown slime masses. As a result, extraction of rust (Fe203) would further improve smoothness of pipe wall, water quality (Clearer) and cooling efficiency are improved. Finally, energy saving can be achieved. 61 61
